For the last five years, KGNU has been conducting live broadcasts from RockyGrass. Our broadcasts will now have a home on the web - kgnu.org/rockygrass.
We broadcasted as much as we could from this year's RockyGrass. We hope that these excerpts paint a tiny picture of the amazing three days of music that happened in 2012. Listen, enjoy, and please spread the word about the archives.
If you're new to KGNU, you'll likely be interested in our weekly Bluegrass show, Old Grass Gnu Grass. It is a Colorado favorite that has been hitting the airwaves every Saturday morning from 9:00a-Noon (MT) since 1978.
Noam Pikelny & Friends:
The amazing Noam Pikelny is the banjo player for The Punch Brothers, but you probably already knew that. Noam pointed out from the stage that the Planet Bluegrass festivals are where The Punch Brothers came together, underlining what a vital role these Colorado events play in developing and sustaining Bluegrass.
He hit the stage at RockyGrass with a host of talented friends for what was a beautiful set on Friday afternoon. Here are the highlights from KGNU's Sunday morning broadcast.

Unforgettable Friday night heroics from Punch Brothers at RockyGrass. Throughout the evening the gentlemen of this super group were dazzling. I'm not sure anyone saw the Beck cover coming, but as Chris Thile says, "Beck is Bluegrass!" - especially when you play him like that. Who's feeling young now?
