Barbés Records has uncovered The Roots of Chicha. In the '60s, a sound emerged that united Peru's indigenous melodies with Colombia's cumbia rhythm, surf rock wah-wah pedals, and rock and roll organ-playing. These 'cumbias amazonicas' became chicha, the soundtrack of empowerment for Peru. Learn More

KGNU offers regular classes on the fundamentals of learning to DJ. You can sign up to learn DJ basics at either our Boulder or Denver studios.
