Mornings aren't the same now that I can't watch hockey over breakfast!  For a fan like me, I know it's weird that I don't normally get the channels that air NHL games.  But the Olympic Hockey came in quite well and some mornings if I happened to wake up at 5am, I'd even check to see if there was a game and what was the score.  One day that meant watching Switzerland score an important goal.  I was thrilled to see how improved Switzerland was, how the Finns surprised everyone, and how the Swedish women will make the US women's team pay more attention next time.  Of course now that it's all over I'll be happy to get back to reading and seeing friends of an evening!

Oddly, on Friday morning I watched half a semi-final game and headed out to the feed store to pick up cat food.  It's only a half mile from my house so I couldn't understand how my car started up fine and got me there and then would not start this time.  Having finally moved into the cell phone world I was able to call triple A and have them come out.  But being so close to home I went back to my house and grabbed my bike, taking the time to fix a flat and watch more hockey.  You can imagine the reaction when I called in to work.  "I'm going to be late, my car won't start!" "Sure Elaine, what's the hockey score?"  All the car needed was a jump but when I drove up to the auto supply store they had no interest in helping me replace the battery.  I must have looked unaware when I didn't even have the right size wrench.  But when less than ten minutes later I walked the old battery in they did comment, "That was quick!"

All in all it seemed a crazy week.  I was at an appointment on Thursday morning so trying to play catch up that afternoon when Clarissa Pinkola Estes (Author of Women Who Run With Wolves) wound up in my office for an hour sharing her story ideas.  I'm trying to arrange a lot of meetings to organize some of the work here as well as clean my office and get ready for the fund drive.

I'm not sure when I'll have time to enjoy winter after this week so I got snowshoeing with some women friends on Saturday and hiked Mt Sanitas, one of the favored Boulder hikes, on Sunday.  Next weekend I'll head up to visit my mom before the big push towards the fund drive.

As ever, we need electronic, international, and bluegrass music most especially for music premiums.  Our drive starts March 31 and runs through April 8.  This spring's goal will again be $225,000.
