Weekly Report from Boulder
Happy New Year everyone! I’m into the notion of trying to start this year with a clean slate. There was an overload of BS in my life last year and I am so ready to put that behind. Here’s hoping it works out, but so far so good.

New Year’s Eve we spent at the Walnut Room in Denver, which my friend Davide won as a party experience through a KGNU raffle. It’s a nice little room, made all the nicer by having a bar with the TV in the front and a separate area with another bar where the music happens. A few KGNU DJs were there to provide the music, but I was disappointed our African music programmer Jill couldn’t make it. Still, dancing in the new year is a good way to go. We left the party before midnight to head down to the 16th Street Mall and catch the fireworks before catching the bus back to Boulder.

I headed up to Aspen on Jan 2, purposely driving against the traffic. Mom kept inviting friends to dinner; people from the Aspen Music Festival, a woman who works for WFMT. It was kinda funny after a while that we never had much quiet time together. Of course I spent the days out on the slopes, getting in lots of runs with a buddy up there, and finding fresh powder stashes every day. We did pay a visit to the Jerry Garcia shrine as I hadn’t paid much attention to the shrine scene which covers the mountains there before. Thanks as ever to Kathy for making sure there were no major calamities in my absence.

The new year also meant a giant leap forward in technology for me. I was able to listen to the iPod in the car on the drive up as well as talk on my new cell phone. I’ve been spending way too much time on Myspace, all I need now is a laptop and I can be caught up with modern tech for the next 30 minutes!
