Weekly Report from Boulder
Summer time seems to have hit, even if it's not yet Memorial Day. I've been really enjoying doing more biking, including riding in to work twice last week. Aren't rising gas prices a good inspiration? It's also been nice as I've seen so much great wildlife ñ pelicans, a blue heron, a western tanager (one of our most colorful birds!), a fox, and was that a bald eagle out nesting near the reservoir?

Saturday evening I joined some friends to see the latest from Vox Feminista: Plop Goes the Patriarchy. They are a great group of radical feminists (who like to point out how you never hear about radical masculinistsÖ) that put on bi-annual performance/punditry/humor. One of their great pieces had them poking fun at the women who are apparently now getting plastic surgery on parts one doesn't regularly see! Of course this had them wearing giant vulvas on stage. And of course much of the evening was in celebration of the goddess within us all and how that is what has been celebrated since time immemorial whilst the patriarchy is more a phenomena of the last two centuries.

Yesterday KGNU celebrated our 27th Anniversary. We had a nice but subdued open house and a very young clarinet/piano/cello trio performing Happy Birthday and a Brahms piece. Today the station manager had our astrologer come in to say that yes, KGNU is entering its Saturn return year! This is usually a sign of reaching a level of maturity. Thankfully she said we could anticipate good things in store for us.
