Weekly Report from Boulder
Happy Monday and to those who honor it Happy Passover!

We wrapped up the official on-air fund drive Saturday night with a jam band special. This was a tough drive, a bit discouraging with that new Denver signal. But it's not unusual for us to need to go into “soft drive” mode where we thank those who called and remind people who didn't that we still need to hear from them. Bluegrass continues to be a popular show for pledges and reggae did very well this time, and of course we got a number of calls during Democracy Now!

I lost track of time last week with my odd work schedule, weekdays off, working on the weekends. I kinda like those days off during the week, it gives a different feel to coming in to town for errands. What with these outrageous gas prices, I also managed to leave the car at home three days in a row and coming in with the bus and my bike, or like yesterday by hanging in my town rather than coming in to Boulder.

I've been catching up on movies and last night finally saw Hotel Rwanda. This is an amazing film that I highly recommend. There are, of course, some difficult scenes but for the most part it's a very human story and focuses on positive action in a time of terrible tragedy. The saddest thing in the film is how much the Rwandans felt neglected by the rest of the world as they were surrounded by this senseless massacre.
