Weekly Report from Boulder
It's been a busy and crazy coupla weeks! I'll try to keep this brief.

Montreal was: cold, entertaining, full of great people, had cool clubs, easy to get around, very bilingual, and did I mention cold? My favorite small world moment was on the first night awaiting the doors to open at Club Gesu. A man looked at me, looked at my badge and said "We have a link." "What's that?" I replied. "I do radio at Hamilton College, New York, the place that turned Ward Churchill's speaking engagement away." Jonathan and I had a great weekend hearing music after that as we found our musical interests to be very much alike. But after the club gigs, he'd go back to where he and kids were staying with the in-laws. Usually I would head back to the Hyatt for the activities, for one to catch the well acclaimed Uncle Earl (featuring KC Groves from our neck of the woods) and finally on Saturday night to catch up with outgoing president of Folk Alliance and KGNU DJ, Meredith Carson. Saturday was also Montreal en Lumeriere, or their excuse to party all night. So of course on my way back to my hotel at 4am, I had to stop to ride the inner tube down the big ice slide!

Flying this trip was really awful. I just hope that that is the worst travel experience I have in a while. Four airports in one day on the way home was a bit too much. I was finally at my house at 2:30am!! Then the next evening was the Silent Auction. Oooh, was I pretty out of it at that! But we did well and sold all three guitars we were auctioning.

On Thursday night, my coworker Sam convinced me to head down to Denver's Gothic Theater to catch Paul Westerberg. Entertaining show, and they made it sound like their travel was as annoying as mine. Paul's got a great catalog and bounced back and forth between classic Replacements tracks and newer material. At one point he dropped his pants to show his knee all wrapped up! Oooh, the work of a roadie, he had to come out and help refasten Westerberg so he could keep playing guitar.
