Weekly Report from Boulder
Last week was quite busy with the Triple A Radio conference in town. I didn't get to everything but did head over to the E-Town taping on Wednesday night. Steve Earle was in good form and had a great interview. He and Citizen Cope made a solid pairing. Margaret Weissman and Jim Nelson and I then headed off in search of food before the Fox showcases, being the first of two nights last week where it was a sushi vs. margarita dilemna. Being on the hill we could satisfy both.

I got to the Fox in time to see some of Jem's set. Her nice little belly is certainly a distraction. Solid band and sweet vocals but somehow I didn't find the two merged when they got to their Stevie Wonder cover. Next up was Camper van Beethoven whom I'd never seen before. They had me laughing!!! But then you knew we are more the CVB kinda station than the John Mayer kinda station didn't you?

Friday morning we had our open house with Epitaph records and Glenn Tilbrook in to play. Low key but fun! I know for some people that's been too early in the AM or you need to be at a session so do let me know if you want to come by the station!! We're proud of the facilities here and happy to show them off!

Saturday in the day I did things around the house, took a bike ride, then came to town briefly to hear author Jasper Fforde speak about his newest addition to the Thursday Next series. One part literary critic, one part fantasy author, and one part classic British comic, Fforde gave a great presentation and made me glad I had taken the time.

That night it was time to grab Joe Swank and others for Boulder's best margarita. Ouch, I should know better than to have two!! Back up to the Fox for more shows with some spirited girl rock from Antigone Rising, leading up to a headline set from Old 97s. They were very swinging and high-energy.

It was great to see everyone who I caught up with in town for this. I'm not sure what is up on the conference front for me next year as I am planning on getting to Folk Alliance/Strictly Mundial in Montreal which means some other conference will have to go. But do let me know as that gets closer if you'll be there. We'll need each other to help stay warm!
