Weekly Report from Boulder
Amy Goodman had a very successful visit to Colorado last week, doing two sold out appearances on behalf of KGNU in Boulder and Denver. We fielded a lot of calls from people wondering where Free Speech TV was located and if they could go watch her produce the show. She certainly has a cult like following, and I think she gained some new and well-deserved fans from the appearances.

Our next event is this Thursday when David Korten, author of When Corporations Rule the World, comes to town.

Some days it just sucks to be right. Sure enough I had not foreseen Colorado making it out of the second round in the playoffs. The Avalanche had a good couple games but not enough to get out of their 3 game deficit and beat the Sharks. I may have to root for Calgary now just because it would be great to see a Canadian team win the Stanley Cup.

Saturday I spent much of the day at the Democratic County Caucus. The caucus process is rather lengthy, first held at the precinct level, then on to county, congressional district and state. After that one can consider going ahead to the national level. Turnout was amazing and I ran into people I knew from so many different areas of my life. Our local trends have continued where the county went strongly in favor of Dennis Kucinich as presidential candidate. We know that Kerry is getting the nod, we just want him to hear the message not to ignore the left wing of the party. It was a little more challenging to decide between Mike Miles and Ken Salazar as senatorial candidate. Miles had a respectable showing, but we know that Peter Coors will have a strong war chest and really we’d rather see a Democrat take over Ben Nighthorse-Campbell’s seat.
