Weekly Report from Boulder
Saturday was the end of our spring fund drive. We netted $145,000 on the way to a goal of $165,000. For us that is fine as we normally continue to see pledges come in from the people who are not on the same calendar or who turn the radio off during the drive, or who just generally respond to the “soft drive” that comes afterward. Thanks to everyone who contributed and thanks to all of you who sent on music for use as premiums.
So the real hockey season now begins. This is the first time in their Colorado history that our team has not taken its division. Boo, Vancouver for topping us. So the Avalanche are slated to take on Dallas starting Wednesday. They’ve been so inconsistent this year I don’t really see them making it past the second round. I’ll be happy to be wrong and see them go farther though!
Tuesday mornings at KGNU are staff meeting times. The only way it looks as if I will get a chance to post these reports is if CMJ gets working again and extends beyond 1pm local or 3p ET. Good thing there are over 400 of you to get these reports and see for yourself what we are playing.
I’m off to Detroit this weekend to see the California Guitar Trio play at the Detroit Institute of Arts. I’ll be joining my sister and her family for an Easter Sunday brunch at which they play. Should be fun. Not sure if I will be able to get reports out next week though I will be back for tracking calls on Tuesday.
