With influences from Fela Kuti, James Brown, Wayne Krantz, Bob Marley and the Red Hot Chili Peppers the HY3 sound "captivates listeners and propels dancers".

Growing up in Maine, Holden fished with his father and learned music through his mother's collection of 60's music. Both musically inclined at one point only to have turned to fishing and psychology this contrast is reflected in Holden's unique guitar style and songwriting. He writes, "She was peace walkin' for Vietnam, my father rode the water a fisherman; in the Navy its so crazy that they ever made me." in his song "Love On".

Holden went on to master his skills in Boston at Berklee College of Music and also in Nashville's glitter and glam; where he recorded his first album in 2005, Not Much & Everything. Now residing in Colorado with 15 years of guitar study and 8 years studying piano and world rhythms, Holden is receiving great enthusiasm from the mountain area and is consistently expanding his touring circuit.

Holden's trio includes New Orleans original Billy Franklin on bass and New York native Eric Rolls on drums. With dynamic arrangements that build tension over the whole affair, Six Months to Live often seem like they are balanced precariously over a pit of destruction. The members of the project use these influences to create music that relates to the modern world of acculturation while retaining a traditional as well as exploratory approach to improvisation and groove. The result is eclectic original music that hints of snake charmers, meditative ragas, and compelling rhythms.

Northern Colorado musician Aakash Mittal has been making a name for himself leading his own jazz quartet, which performs all original music at such venues as Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge , Bliss Café, Vita and the Ft. At the end of 2006, the band grew considerably with the addition of 4(!) new members, which really opened up some new directions, while allowing them to add a lot of depth to their arrangements. Their repertoire spans traditional Celtic tunes (jigs, reels, and airs), modern acoustic Americana (a cross between Folk, Bluegrass, & Country), folk dances of old Europe, and even arrangements of classics of the baroque era. Everything is done with a sense of fun and careful attention to interplay between the instrumental colors. Three of the band's new members joined after playing for 6 years as the core of the fine One Lucky Guy band ("Exactly like bluegrass, only different") while they charmed audiences at festivals and events all along the Front Range.

http://www.myspace.com/crabshackhouseband

Extraordinary Renditions

Extraordinary Renditions has been playing music on an off for almost 20 years. Weaving intelligent lyrics through seamless rhythms comes naturally for this singer/songwriter who pens songs with depth, emotion, and honest feelings with which many different audiences can connect.

It doesn’t stop there for the Texas native. With every step along his path, he has picked up a new flavor for his music. While attending college in New Orleans, he picked up the funk and zest for life that inevitably seeps into the souls of those who live there. He pulls a slice of Americana from his childhood and playing his first live shows in Fort Worth, Texas. With a move to Denver in 2004, one can hear a new expansive sound work in its way into Walker’s songwriting.

http://www.myspace.com/daniellawrencewalker

The Autumn Film

The Autumn Film formed in August 2006. It draws on a broad range of styles and influences, while being grounded in the tradition of story-telling folk style bards, yet embracing an iconoclastic and unique musical approach shared by many independent artists. Using common themes such as life and death, dreams, lost love, coming of age, and faith, he attempts to recall tales of his own life while making subtle social commentaries. Drew looks to literature and poetry as a guide in his lyrical approach, placing the importance on the content of the words and their sonic quality, as opposed to filling rhythmic space with lines that rhyme.

Following his appearance on Kaberet, Drew will begin performing shows in Denver and Boulder with his back-up band of upright bass and drum-kit, and is in the process of recording his second CD or digital collection of 10 songs.
For more information, check out:

www.myspace.com/drewbrightbill

American Relay

Born out of a love for American roots music, punk rock ethos, a serendipidous rencontre, and a mutual disdain for the state of popular music, two young men from the mountains of Colorado set out to revive the soul of American rock and roll.
