March 1: The Autumn Film

Denver's The Autumn Film plays on the Kabaret highlighting their latest album, "The Ship and The Sea".

“Like a post-collegiate Fiona Apple jamming with Snow Patrol, [The Autumn Film] serves up a piano-drenched sincerity topped off with a voice that's wise and heartbroken beyond its years” ~The Onion

The Autumn Film has a voice you'd swear you've heard before, although the band was voted “Best Band to Come out of Nowhere” by The Westword. Al-Attas' voice is completely her own. It's a huge voice, like an old friend, telling you secrets one minute, reassuring you the next. It's spiritual, soothing, soft, but powerful enough to fill a room. It leaves goose bumps over and over again, each time the opening notes sound.

Feb 8: Trio Con Brio

With a violin, cello and piano, Trio Con Brio captures the spirit of tango. We're available for gigs of all sorts; parties, art openings, festive dinner parties.

Violinist Benjamin Gauss plays both viola and violin, and has a Masters in Performance from the University of Oklahoma (as well as an undergraduate degree in music from our own CU Boulder). Before returning to Colorado, he played in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic. He now plays in various local symphonies and ensembles, and makes his home in Longmont with his wife Elizabeth, a French Horn player...

Pianist Cynthia Tarkanian got a Bachelors in Performance at CU Boulder before pursuing her medical degree in ophthalmology. She won various competitions, and plays with a number of amateur ensembles. Trio Con Brio marks her return to the stage!

Cellist Lisa Haney most recently played with the Longmont Symphony and the band 'Wadi Rum'. Before that, she was in New York City, active in (mostly) rock bands, ranging from Hall & Oates to Rasputina. The least 'educated' musically, she would like to think she has cello 'street smarts' to make up for school-learning (since she's writing the bios!).
