Oct 26: Aakash Mittal

The Aakash Mittal quartet previews their upcoming new album "Videsh". A twelve-movement suite performed continuously, Videsh was inspired by Mittal's first trip to India, his father's homeland. Each movement programmatically represents a different aspect of the experience and musically draws from an eclectic array of styles including jazz, modern grooves/effects, the avant-garde, and elements of Indian music. VIDESH will be a unique musical experience for Colorado audiences.

Oct 5: Eleanor

"Eleanor pulls the listener into close emotional orbit with metallic drumbeats and melting violin chords. Eleanor's music is experimental yet grounded, blending an original sound with cohesive, accessible melodies. But arresting and stirring harmonies reflect that, behind every toe-tapping note, there is an artist exploring his and our own imperfect humanity. Palpable honesty and fresh lyrics echo this exploration, this struggle. And in the end, the listener can't help feel captured, drawn into the music's agile movement and captured by the language for its reality.

Building from a strong foundation of charming, understated chamber folk underscored by glitchy rhythms, Eleanor has crafted the soundtrack of urban daydreams and reflections. -The Westword " http://www.myspace.com/eleanor_music
