August 4th: Driftwood Fire

Driftwood Fire incorporates jazz and Appalachian influences, with a result reminiscent of HEM, Cowboy Junkies, Ditty Bops, Vienna Teng. This melodic indie folk pop trio was born when songwriters Charlotte Formichella and Lynn Scharf met at a rural Virginia gas station in 2004. The core band has since expanded to include esteemed folk-rock drummer Jennifer 'JJ' Jones (Ellis, Edie Carey, Julie Loyd). Both Lynn and Charlotte were top finalists in Denver's Blue Note 2007 singer/songwriter contest.
