Crabshack House Band

The Crabshack House Band plays a wide variety of acoustic and vocal music with the diverse instrument combination of mandolin, accordion, guitars, violin, octave mandolin, and bass with occasional percussion (bodhran, shakers, etc.). At the end of 2006, the band grew considerably with the addition of 4(!) new members, which really opened up some new directions, while allowing them to add a lot of depth to their arrangements. Their repertoire spans traditional Celtic tunes (jigs, reels, and airs), modern acoustic Americana (a cross between Folk, Bluegrass, & Country), folk dances of old Europe, and even arrangements of classics of the baroque era. Everything is done with a sense of fun and careful attention to interplay between the instrumental colors. Three of the band's new members joined after playing for 6 years as the core of the fine One Lucky Guy band ("Exactly like bluegrass, only different") while they charmed audiences at festivals and events all along the Front Range.
