Goodbye Champion

Goodbye Champion is the five-piece incarnation of a collaborative recording effort between Steven Vidaic and Aaron Snyder. They began earnestly writing and recording together in late 2003 focussing their efforts on the cohesive marriage of words and music. Sometimes anthemic, other times whimsical, their songs are a mixture of social commentaries and personal experiences with observational and philosophical leanings. www.myspace.com/goodbyechampion

The Mitguards

This week we're happy to have Chris and Deb Mitguard back in the Kabaret studio. EC Hosts.

"The Mitguards' musical style, a hybrid of American roots music that includes traditional folk, country, swing, and bluegrass, makes their sound powerful and distinct. While they sometimes perform with additional band members near their home in Manitou Springs, Colorado, the core of the band consists of Chris Mitguard on acoustic guitar, banjo and vocals, and Deb Mitguard on mandolin and vocals. Their original songs, framed by unique musical arrangements and raw, haunting harmonies, weave a mixture of humor and tragedy through the stories they tell." www.themitguards.com

*the paper stars*

Tres Altman and his Boulder based ensemble "the paper stars" stop in to play and chat. Performing frequently with other local artists, they're also part of the recent monthy 'troubadours collective' series of performances hosted at the trilogy.

"tres just finished his first album with his band "the paper stars" and is now entertaining the notion of playing and singing his heart out to whoever wants to hear. he also really likes writing about himself from the third person perspective. its like he's up there sitting on a tree branch and i'm thinking 'wouldn't that be funny if it snapped.'
