Title VII Indian Education program in D11 has received their tutoring
grant for the current school year. Carolena Jackson,
the Title VII Indian Education Program Coordinator in Colorado
Springs School District D11 states that the elementary schools slated
for after school tutoring classes are at Whittier, Adams Twain, and
Jefferson. The middle schools are North, Mann, Sabin, and Jenkins. All
classes will be after the school day. Announcement of the dates for the
Indian Education Parent Committee will also be made shortly. Contact

Rocky
Mountain Indian Chamber has Colorado American Indian Scholars
Specialty License Plates that Benefit Scholarship Fund, You
need not be an American Indian
or a student to buy a plate, just have a desire to support the higher
education of deserving Indian students. The proceeds go to a
scholarship for American Indian Colorado residents who attend a
Colorado institution of higher learning. You need to purchase a
certificate from the Rocky Mountain Indian Chamber for $25 to take to
your Motor Vehicle department in order to buy a plate. The procedure is
explained more fully on the RMICC website at http://www.rmicc.org/ You may also
purchase your certificate on line through the Chamber or visit their
offices at 924 W. Colfax Avenue, Suite 104F, in Denver, CO 80204. The

Lacrosse is a fast exciting game to play & watch. Requiring speed,

assisting. Sticks are provided. The Saturday sessions give everyone a
chance to learn and play the game. After short instruction and a drill
period, all participants play a game. Half time sessions often include
short talks on health, the importance of being drug and alcohol free,
the different tribal traditions and legends of the game and its
spiritual origin. Family members bring refreshments, visit and often
