Theresa Halsey & Mary Bowannie

Host and Producer is Theresa Halsey, Hunkpapa Lakota.  Listen to national, (Native American Calling) and local American Indian issues, news and music during this hour long program. Brad Barlett, Richard Two Elk  with his sons, Jeremy & Hatuay, the Going'On Young Indian Producers and Ellen Klaver along with various other volunteer producers also contribute stories to the Indian Voices program.The Indian Voices Program has been part of KGNU since 1983.

Theresa Halsey & Mary Bowannie with Indian Voices were honored to receive a First Place Honorable Mention award at the Native American Journalist Association Conference in Seattle, Washington, July 9, 1999 for the Best Ongoing Radio Program in 1998 and 2nd Place Honorable Mention for the Best Radio Feature in 1998. The NAJA conference will be with UNITY August 4-8, 2004 in Washington, DC. Mary has moved to Albuquerque, NM and contributes radio news stories to various radio news programs.
