African Roots

African Roots. Dance to the beat of her jungles, streets and townships: jitjive, Rai, Soukous, African jazz, Mbnaqanga and Afro-Caribbean rhythms.
Afropop Worldwide

Afropop Worldwide is the pre-eminent syndicated show on African and Latino music.
With contributions from leading world music experts Benning Tyre and Ned Sublette.

Corriente (cor-RYEN-teh) is Spanish for "current".
A bilingual program featuring music, news, poetry and features.
This show presents the music of Latin America, from traditional to contemporary rock and hip-hop.
It includes Universo, feature on astronomy in Spanish.
Preceded by ¡Que Onda!, a topical bilingual show on local issues for the Hispanic community.
With T. Valladares, Ellen Klaver, Bekaluna and Roberto Sequeiro.
Hmong Colorado Radio

Hmong Colorado Radio presents Hmong news programming and pop music.
The Hmong (mountain people of Laos) have a strong presence in Boulder. KGNU is proud that this group of Hmong youth has chosen to use KGNU as its medium.

Musica Mundi
Wednesdays, 7:00 PM; 2 hours
Musica Mundi (MOO-see-kah MOON-dee) is Latin for "music of the world".
This international show spans the globe and musical styles, from obsure field recordings of authentic chants, to contemporary pop.
However, the 1st show of the month is dedicated just to the Celtic tradition.
One World
Sundays, 10:00 PM; 2 hours
Also known as "Music from one world", this show tends to explore more contemporary sounds and dance beats.
Reggae bloodlines
Saturdays, 1:00 PM; 3 hours
The second oldest reggae show in the US. Reggae and its roots: ska, rock steady and calypso.
TerrsaSonic
Saturdays, noon; 1 hour
An hour-long magic carpet ride around the world of music, exploring familiar routes and new traditions in international sound. From Asian Dub to Afro-Beat, Indian Breaks to Moroccan Roll; from then to now and here to there - TerraSonic conducts weekly experiments in its free-form world music laboratory.
