KGNU presents classical music unlike the typical public radio station does.
Instead of playing the tried and true standards of 19th century ad nausea, KGNU explores this music through the ages (going back to the Baroque and Musica Antiqua), the Avant Garde, and the unusual.
Significantly, free-form programmers are likely to drop classical music into their mix, not because it's required on a timely basis by a canned "eclectic" format, but because classical music is included in their extensive palette of musical styles.
