Flash Flood watch in effect for the Front Range

A Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from 2 PM MDT this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon

The Flash Flood Watch continues for central Colorado, east central Colorado, north central Colorado and northeast Colorado, from 2 PM MDT this afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.

Widespread showers and thunderstorms will produce 1 to 3 inches of rain this afternoon through Wednesday. Some thunderstorms may train or reform over the same areas and produce even higher rainfall amounts in a few areas.

Flash flooding of low lying areas creeks and streams will be possible along with rock and mud slides. If you live in flood prone areas or will be traveling stay alert to the weather and be prepared for rapidly rising water levels.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
