Drinkin' With Lincoln

Did you know there are more books written about Abraham Lincoln than any other figure in human history, with the exception of Jesus of Nazareth? The evening will include discussion, trivia games (with prizes!) and oh yes, a drinking game. Reminiscent of drinking games played at home for past Presidential State of the Union Addresses (remember taking a sip every time George Bush said Freedom?), we will toast the 16th President every time Emancipation, States Rights or Insanity is mentioned!

This event is open to the public and Lincoln fans of ALL AGES are urged to participate. A donation of five dollars is suggested to support KGNU Community Radio!

Distinguished panelists include:

Dr Rebecca Hunt, University of Colorado Denver: interprets the history of America and the West as well as immigration, ethnicity, womens history and museum studies. Her most recent book is Natrona County: People, Place and Time.

Dr Geoff Hunt, Community College of Aurora: a military historian and an avid Civil War re-enactor. Dr. Hunt has worked in museums for twenty years, and he's taught at the Community College of Aurora since 1995.

Dr. Todd Laugen, Metro State College: specializing in American History after 1865, including Politics, Labor, Women, and the West. Recent publications include The Gospel Of Progressivism: Moral Reform And Labor War In Colorado, 1900-1930.

Patricia Richard, Metro State College: Associate Professor of History. Field of expertise includes the Civil War & Reconstruction. Author of Busy Hands: Images of the Family in the Northern Civil War Effort.
