Denver Campaign Report: (See attached)

IT Committee: Chip, Michele and Marty have begun to interview candidates for the lead IT position and hope to complete that process by the end of the week. Once the field is narrowed to three candidates the station will host a reception for them so that staff, board and volunteers can meet them and then give feedback to the committee.

Bylaws Committee: The Board reviewed Articles I-V along with changes suggested by KGNU counsel Gregg Friedman. The next Bylaws committee meeting will be held Wed, March 16, 6pm at the KGNU studios. It is hoped that the revised Bylaws can be ratified at the July Board meeting.

Volunteer/Orientation Committee: The KGNU staff will meet soon to review existing orientation materials. Michele Barone and Shelley Schlender are revising their Power Point presentation. It was suggested that refreshments and “hang-out” time be provided following each volunteer orientation meeting, which would allow for a more relaxed, informal environment where new volunteers can talk and ask more questions. Another idea is to select a volunteer leader from each meeting who would be responsible for contacting orientation attendees. A motion was made to approve a resolution that a Board member be present at each orientation meeting, effective in March. The resolution passed unanimously. The next volunteer orientation meeting is scheduled for Feb. 10th.

Off-Month Board Meetings: The Board discussed whether or not to continue to meet monthly, using the “on-month/off-month” format. It was decided that the Board will continue to meet monthly as long as necessary. During off-month meetings, only those committees with vital activity are asked to submit brief reports in an effort to minimize the amount of time required.

Respectfully submitted,

Steven Sherman-Boemker,

Secretary, KGNU Board of Directors
