Swing Station, LaPorte’s
premiere Honky Tonk, features a bluegrass jam every Sunday at 6pm. Swing
Station is located at the corner of Overland Trail and North College Avenue in

an Open Bluegrass Jam every 1st Sunday of the month at 4:00 pm. This jam

Monday:
Denver Folklore Center has a jam on
Mondays at 7p.m. The Folklore center is located at 1893 S. Pearl in Denver.
Every 2nd and 4th Monday night at 7:30 pm there’s an open
Bluegrass Jam at O’Malley’s Irish Pub and Restaurant, located in Palmer
Lake, about half way between Denver and Colorado Springs off I25. Look for Walter

Thursday:
There’s an open jam at Borders
Books, in the new 29th St Mall in Boulder, every Thursday from
6-9PM.
Thursdays mark the traditional jam at The White Fence Farm, 6263 Jewel
Ave. in Lakewood, from 7-9:30 p.m. The Bluegrass Music Preservation Society
sponsors this jam on 1st and 3rd Thursdays; and the Colorado Bluegrass Music
Society sponsors on the 2nd, 4th, and 5th (if there is one) Thursdays of the
month.
Arvada Covenant Church, 5555 Ward Rd., Arvada, holds a jam on the 2nd

Saturday:
Old Town Music, 285 S. Pearl St.,

Open Bluegrass Pick, featuring some if Boulders best professional and amateur

Lonny
Lewis hosts a Saturday night jam from 6:30-9:30pm at the Northglenn

Dance Groups:
CFOOTMAD is the acronym for the Colorado
Friends Of Old Time Music And Dance. They meet twice a month in Boulder,
and twice a month in Denver. Learn the dances of our forebears to the thrill of

Ongoing Bluegrass Shows
Bethlehem Lutheran Church, at 1000 W. 15th St (that's 4 blocks west of Main
street on 15th) in Longmont holds a bluegrass worship service every second
Sunday of each month. There are two services, at 8:15 am and 10:30 am, and

2nd Annual Southern Colorado Bluegrass Festival runs May 10 2008 at The Fox Theater in Walsenberg,
beginning at 11 am. This little
festival features Ozark Bluegrass Boys, The Ackermans, South Wind, Jessum

The 19th Annual Bluegrass on the River runs May 30-June 1 at The Nature and Raptor of
Pueblo, 5200 Nature Center Road, Pueblo CO. This largely local event features Pete Wernick and
Flexigrass, Hickory Project, Sons and Brothers, Bluegrass Patriots, Palmer
Divide, Fireweed, High Plains Tradition, Hot Club of Santa Fe, Second Wind,
High Atmosphere, The Ackermans, The Hartman Family Band, Matt Flinner Trio, The
Stanleytones, Quickdraw, Rocky Road Gals, County Line Ramblers, Blue Canyon

North Fork Bluegrass & Roots Music Jam Camp will run June 9-12, 2008 in Hotchkiss,
Colorado. Camp Hosts Chele's
Kitchen Band and The Hickory Project will be on board for Beginner

on board for guitar students working on blues, finger-style folk and basic

Scott Band, Tim O'Brien, Béla Fleck, Peter Rowan, Jerry Douglas, Edgar Meyer,

Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Longmont holds a bluegrass worship service,
and they're looking for additional bluegrass musicians to accompany this service
who are willing to perform on a volunteer basis. For more information, please

Please submit your gigs at least one week in advance. The deadline for
Kgnu’s Concert and Community Calendars, which run during the week, is two weeks
in advance. These deadlines apply to the web pages as well as the radio
announcements. Please note that due to Kgnu’s non-profit status we can't post,
or announce, prices for non-KGNU performances, sorry. The Hotline is a community
service provided by KGNU, any one playing, or promoting, bluegrass may submit
their gigs, jams, and festivals regardless of membership status. (But wouldn't
you want to be a member?)

Good Morning Friends and Neighbors; I regret having to announce that Daniel
"Buck" Buckner passed away this past Thursday 10/2/2003, around 1:30
p.m., at his home in Boulder Heights; he was 62. He had been battling advanced
prostate cancer for more than a year before he expired. He survived by a close
family, and group of friends, who will miss him deeply. More...
